Frederick Douglass Scholarship

Friendship-West Baptist Church is now accepting applications for the 2025 Frederick Douglass Scholarship, available to both high school graduates and returning college or graduate students who have been active members of the church for at least one year. The scholarship supports students who demonstrate academic achievement, involvement in ministry, and a commitment to social justice. Applicants must complete the online application, submit a current photo, provide required academic documentation, and write an essay reflecting on the impact of Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III’s leadership in the fight for racial equality.

Essays and criteria vary slightly depending on education level, and qualifying applicants will also participate in an interview. All application materials are due by Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. For more details or questions, contact scholarship@friendshipwest.org.
