Get Connected

The Connection Center is designed to direct and connect you with the specific classes and ministries that will help you discover and develop God’s personal purpose and plan for your life.

To begin your journey on the path and experience a better life, come by the Connection Center in the Narthex after any weekend service for a brief orientation.

Our Connection Center Team is here to help you answer any questions concerning which class or ministry is right for you. If you are a new believer, new to FWBC or just desire to grow in your relationship with Christ, join an FWBC Community.
Start Your Connection

Now that you’ve made the most important
decision of your life, what’s next?

Walk Forward »
At the conclusion of every Worship Service, our Pastor extends a brief time of what we call the “Invitation”—a time to come forward if you have not received Christ as your personal Savior or would like to rededicate your life to Christ and/or if you are in search of a church home and would like to join Friendship-West. Responding to the Invitation is an essential, simple step in accordance to Scripture, instructing each to make a public profession of faith. If you have small children in our nursery or Children’s Ministry programs, a caregiver or teacher will remain with them until they are picked up.

New Member Orientation »
You will be informed about New Member Orientation which is a mandatory training for all new members and is the primary requirement for involvement in Friendship-West’s servant communities (ministries). It is designed to inform you of foundational concepts including church history, our statement of faith, our mission, vision and goals. It also covers topics of the Christian faith such as God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, Christian precepts, Man and Sin, Salvation, Baptism, Prayer and tithing. New member orientation also exists to encourage you to get connected to our Church body via our servant communities. You will be introduced to how God has equipped each one of us to serve effectively within the Body of Christ through teachings on Spiritual Gifts and utilizing those gifts in ministry.

Decision Counselor »
When you walk forward, you’ll be greeted by a Decision Counselor. Typically, there are several other people who make decisions for Christ and church membership, so you will not be alone. Those who are making decisions will be escorted to our Decision Counseling Room which is located just outside the Worship Center. In this very comfortable setting, the Decision Counselor will talk to you individually about your decision (and membership). This usually takes only 5-10 minutes.

Water Baptism » (Baptism Information)
Baptism is an important and rewarding observance that demonstrates your heart’s commitment to the Lord. You can be baptized in water on the 4th Sunday of every month at the 11:00 a.m. worship service.
CONNECT & GROW
We hope you have felt the love and acceptance that is the heartbeat of the FWBC family. Click for available ministries to help you get connected. No matter what stage of life you are in, if you have a desire to grow in your relationship with Christ there are communities at FWBC to help start your growth.

What are your services like?
If you love gospel music, both old school and new school, our worship team of choirs, musicians, and dancers encourage you to join in full participation through singing, clapping, and lifting your hands. You will see people with their hands up and down, with their eyes open and closed. Some are singing loudly while others may not! Our creative drama team will captivate you with an insightful gospel message during worship on occasion. We are not here to entertain but to draw you into fellowship in a culturally relevant way while worshipping the exciting and awesome God that we serve! We try our best to do what we think blesses God and brings people closer to God.

Do you have mid-week services? Yes. We offer Wednesday Night Words and Wonders Bible Study at 7:00 pm. You are invited to relax and enjoy a powerful and relevant message that speaks to the different situations that we face in our lives and discover how we can overcome those situations through our faith. We also have a Wednesday mid-day that meets at 12:00 noon.

Will I have to stand up in front of people?
We do like to acknowledge all of our guests but you need not stand if you don’t want to, and no we will not put the spotlight on you!

Are your facilities accessible for people with disabilities? Yes. Ample parking is provided on our campus. Our Campus offers an elevator to help you elevate from the lower to upper areas of our Worship & Center.

Do I have to dress up?
No, you don’t. We encourage people to dress comfortably. For some, that may mean dressing up, but for most it simply means wearing casual clothes. We simply ask that you dress modestly and decently. We want everyone to come, be comfortable, and enjoy learning about God together. Come as you are!

How can I get a copy of the Sermon?
We make all the messages available on CD, immediately after worship. DVDs will be available the following Sunday. Order forms are located at the Media desk. You can order past sermons, series, & teachings by way of the same order form or online.

How does your church help those in need?
Friendship-West Baptist Church is committed to community transformation. We extend ourselves into the local community by providing a food pantry, prison outreach, and resources to our Katrina families and other families within the community, including scholarships to students and many other individuals who are in need of assistance in the community. Ultimately, our purpose for serving those in need is to bring glory to God. When people see God’s love exemplified through his people in practical ways, it proves that God’s love can prevail over selfishness and indifference. Our goal is to be a light in the community. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16). We are a Christian community within the community that transforms the community.
