  • REGISTER to JOIN the Winter Reading Challenge hosted by CHOSEN Generation
  • The Winter Reading Challenge runs from November 7th to February 6, 2022. You can join at any time.
  • The goal is to read at least ONE book from our Justice Reading List every month. It can be an eBook, audiobook, or print – your choice. Remember, as long as you are reading you are growing.
  • If one book from our Justice Reading List every month is not enough, you can read more. Do you think you can read 2 books a month? What bout 4? We encourage you to read as much as you can …
  • Win prizes by writing and submitting at least one, 1-2 page essay based on CHOSEN’s universal writing prompt. Submissions should be made to chosen@friendshipwest.org by Friday, February 4, 2022. The best essays in each age group will win prizes for creativity and command of argument.
  • Make creative social media posts during the Reading Challenge (post your favorite quote, make a video of you reciting lines from the text, etc.). Use #CHOSENWinterReadingChallenge on social media.
  • Youth, parents, and the Friendship West community can support our challenge by donating books to our Justice Book Drive. All books and materials collected during our Winter Reading Challenge and Justice Book Drive will be donated to facilities that house incarcerated youth so that youth behind bars can embrace reading as a tool for reimagining and reclaiming their life. Donations can be delivered to the church at 2020 W. Wheatland Rd., Dallas, TX, c/o CHOSEN Generation Youth Ministry.

After you add the Reading Challenge details to the registration page our next steps are to:

  • Add PDF of Book List to the registration page (see PDF attached). Can you create a reading list header that says "Winter Reading Challenge Reading List" for this page?
  • Link registration link to QR Code on Flyer.
  • Add the flyer, QR code, and registration link to the CHOSEN Webpage.
  • Advertise Event on CHOSEN Youth Web Page
  • Post on Social Media
