ARJ Senior Adult CommunityThe ARJ Senior Adult Community is designed for those in our congregation and community who are age 65 and older. We seek to provide an atmosphere where our older Saints may continue to grow in God’s will and way by studying His word; fellow-shipping with other members of Friendship-West and the surrounding community; and ministering to those who are in need (through individual acts of service and through visits to nursing homes). Ashanti Female Mentoring CommunityOur Ashanti Community is dedicated to developing young ladies, ages 8 -18, into the strong women God has called them to be. Comforters CommunityThe Comforters Community assists in “Bridging the Gap” of pastoral care. Our goal is to link all aspects of pastoral care together to form a net to catch those who have fallen. We provide counseling support during business hours and especially Sunday mornings when many of our members and non-members need a helping hand and ear. DeaconsThe Deacons assist in funerals and wakes of families of our church, visit hospitals, nursing homes and some homebound members. They work closely with the Hospitality and Connection Center to ensure coupling with new membership and the body. Email: deacons@friendshipwest.org |
D.I.O.P.The D.I.O.P Community embraces and mentors young men ages 13-18. First FriendsThe First Friends Community not only wants to welcome new members to their new church family, but we want to walk with them on their new journey in Christian discipleship. G.A.A.P. CommunityThe G.A.A.P. Community shares in the responsibility of corporate prayer. Each Wednesday before Word and Wonders Bible study, the GAAP community leads the prayer time. This time of prayer is very important to the foundation of pastor’s vision. This community intercedes on behalf of the member/person to stand in the gap during times of need. Healthcare CommunityThe Healthcare Community makes a difference in the community as well as Sunday services. They are the contact ministry for the pastoral care hotline. The Healthcare team designates team members to visit those who are hospitalized, coordinate support for funerals held at FWBC, and serve throughout the community at various health fairs and other community events. HOPEThe HOPE Community serves those who have been infected or diagnosed with the HIV/AIDS virus. This community assists with many foundations and agencies with community awareness programs. HospitalityOur mission is to extend a warm and friendly greeting to members and visitors who enter Friendship-West Baptist Church and to assist in all church functions that require Hospitality services. Though we may not know the needs of each worshipper, we do know that every smile, hello and hug brightens someone’s day and we are grateful and privileged to be one of the instruments God uses to help meet the needs of our congregation. New Life SupportNew Life Support helps those who are dealing with addiction, hurting, and are in need of healing. Our goals are to emphasize there is power through prayer and that God still works miracles; encourage the participation of family and friends of those in recovery; and stress to our church members and community, there are various types of addiction, not just alcohol or drugs such as verbal abuse, smoking, caffeine, depression, lust, eating disorders, behaviors, etc. We provide activities, events, and programs, (mini workshops), related to substance abuse, HIV/Aids and prison. Veterans Community"Serving Those Who Serve" (STWS) Mission: Support military families at Friendship-West Baptist Church and communities Action: This ministry will have support groups for Veterans and spouses. Organize fun time for military children. Provide spiritual support to our military families overseas and at home. Also this ministry will provide care packages for our military veterans overseas.
