Q: When does the next orientation class begin?
A: Please consult the Praise & Power Pages or the Connection Center for the current monthly schedule. As a rule of thumb, a new session begins every 1st and 3rd Saturday.
Q: How do I register for orientation classes?
A: You may register by any one of the following ways:
Actual registration takes place on the day of class by filling out required paperwork.
Q: What time/how long are the classes?
A: Class times and hours are as follows:
- The Saturday classes are scheduled for two consecutive Saturday’s from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The first Saturday is Phase 1; the second Saturday is Phase 2. Please begin with Phase 1.
- The HTBI classes are scheduled for eight consecutive Thursdays from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Q: Are there any orientation classes other than on Saturday?
A: In 2008, orientation classes will be offered via the Howard Thurman Bible Institute (HTBI) on Thursday evenings in addition to the Saturday classes. Please register for these classes through the HTBI registration process
Q: What room are classes held in?
A: Please consult the easels posted near each entrance to the church on the day of class for the room assignment.
Q: Do I need to bring anything with me?
A: Please bring a Bible and something to write with. All other material will be given to you in class.
Q: Is food provided for the class?
A: No, food is not provided for the class.
Q: Is childcare provided?
A: No, childcare is not provided at this time.
Q: Can my children attend orientation with me?
A: Children under the age of 18 are not required to attend orientation. Children are welcome to attend with their parent(s), however, they will not be considered a part of the class. We encourage children & youth to attend Children’s Church (every Sunday) or Youth Church (every 1st & 3rd Sunday).
Q: What happens if I miss one of my classes? Can I still graduate with my class?
A: If you miss a class, you may attend the next regularly scheduled class for a make-up. Your graduation date could possibly change depending on class completion date.
Q. What happens if I miss my graduation?
A: If you miss your graduation, you will be contacted to attend the next regularly scheduled graduation. If you are unable to attend, your certificate will be mailed to you.
