Rev. John Wilson, III
Pastor of Christian Education, Friendship-West Baptist Church

Reverend John W. Wilson, III was born in Los Angeles, California. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from San Diego State University in 1983. In 1998 he graduated from The Criswell College, Dallas, Texas, where he received his Masters of Christian Leadership. In May 2002 he graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas with a Masters of Divinity with biblical languages. He is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry degree at George W. Truett Seminary in Waco, Texas.

Reverend Wilson was called to the ministry in January 1998, licensed in 1999 and ordained in 2000. He currently serves as Pastor of Christian Education for Friendship-West Baptist Church. Reverend Wilson oversees several ministries including Ministers in Training, Teacher and Leadership Certification, the Howard Thurman Bible Institute, New Members Education and the Ushers Ministry at the Friendship-West Baptist Church. He is anointed to teach and preach the prophetic Word of God and to instruct His people in sound doctrine resulting in transformed lives.

Reverend Wilson’s previous work experience is concentrated in insurance, investments, finance, and banking and has worked with such companies as American Express Financial Services, Transamerica Occidental Life, Bank One, Texas and The Associates.

Reverend Wilson is happily married to Sherry Lynn Brown. They are proud parents of five boys, John IV, Joshua Weldon, Jordan Webb, Jered Wendell, and Justus Woodson. Rev. Wilson is heard every Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the internet @KGCMradio.com. He hosts the program: “How to Study the Bible and Enjoy It.”
