“Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV). The Phase II investment in “Our Vision for the Village” , and in many lives for generations to come, carries a need of $20 million. This amount is insurmountable, which makes us utterly dependent on God. This is the reason we continue to proceed with faith and prayer, seeking God’s will for each one of us. While Phase II does not complete our Master Plan, it moves us further in expanding our internal spiritual development to enlarge our outward reach.

When we are in God’s will, we cannot underestimate God’s involvement. It is altogether possible that God will lead us to give more than $20 million. Should this happen, the additional funds would open new opportunities toward the completion of the Master Plan, such as our Frederick Douglass Educational Institute, a School of Theology, an African American Church Museum, additional retail stores and shops, and other facilities in phases to come.

Additional gifts would also allow us to retire existing debt, which would enable us to use current funds to explore greater ministry opportunities to impact our city, our nation, and even the world.

For the next three years we are asking you to give over-and-above your current tithes and offerings. We must come together and respond to God’s call, realizing that it is not about equal gifts, but equal sacrifice, as we all seek to be obedient to God’s leading.

We believe that this journey of faith is God’s vision to transform our lives, our church, our community, our city, our nation and even the world. We are surrounded by people who are all in need of the hope we have in Jesus Christ. May we lift up the cross as a beacon of hope and faith. There has never been a greater need for faith than now. May we each live out this faith, praying that the result will transform this generation, and teach the next that our God reigns, and He desires for all to know that this vision is Beyond Ourselves but Within Our Reach.
